Marilyn (and Jesse)

marilyn (and jesse), originally uploaded by radiomaru.

I might as well blog this, since I drew it.

This is a drawing of Aaron Ancheta's characters, Marilyn Finch and Jesse, from a comic in his head that I hope he draws one day.

No I do not have time to draw your characters sorry. This is the last non-Scott Pilgrim thing I will draw all year, I guarantee it.

*Laura bought a tub of minced garlic from the korean food shop. Truely this has to be the hight of food technology!

*More house drama over the last couple of days, basically non of the lawyers had been talking to each other. It's now all solved though, thanks to us contacting them all and going "excuse me, can you do the job we're spending a couple of grand for". Now we know why moving house is so stressful - other people.

*This guy is a self-rightious, whinging, shit bag. Your Xbox still works, you just can't get onto the XBL system, and they gave you a years warning to stop doing it.

*Wii-Fit Plus is like Wii Fit but with more to do and a couple of the annoying bits removed. It's also got a ton of new things to do, which is great for someone like me who wants to do the excercises but got bored with the old ones.

*Life is good. This is surprising as we're heading into winter and I normally get all mooky as a result. Via La Happies!

Artsies!!

SEEDLESS #64

Shamwowie.

And a little blurb about my Longshot story that appeared in this month's Strange Tales MAX #3:

"Corey Lewis and Dylan McCrae's Longshot story is equally as colorful and energetic as Chua's story but also has an actual plotline to it. The graffiti-style artwork is full of tremendous bursts of excitement in service to a plot that's cleverly reminiscent of the original Longshot series."

Whole review here.

First time I've been accused of including a PLOTLINE! I like that my story was considered close to vintage Longshot. When I think about it, I guess it does. Longshot pretty much just dashes around and does random stuff. That's mah bag.

I'm now deep into work on my next fortunate Marvel gig- drawing CANNONBALL! here's a PANEL:

Stick figures YEAUH!

Uhhh.... I was gonna scan a new Sharknife panel, too. But it's like 5:30AM. Fun stuff happening tho.

of Jezebelle's Boutique!

Some of the stuff I will be selling includes pics/items showcased on my website;

Some stuff will be completely new! Some, er, not! You may recognise these from Bump 'n' Grindhouse for example, lol!

These products are completely new!

I have hand-drawn characters on canvas tote-bags with some amazing pens by Deleter (NeoPiko 3's), they are washproof and permanent. I have added detail to each bag by sewing on recycled beads, sequins and diamantes. Lastly I have added highlights using a pearl fabric paint to help bring them out from the background. I've put the original sketch in each bag.
I've kept these under wraps for a while but now is the time to drum up interest XD

These canvas paintings are old (2004) But they will be for sale :)

Variants on these cat ears should also make the show ^^

Lastly I am selling 5 x Christmas Cards (A5!) for £3.50, envelopes included :)

Thanks for looking! Sorry I borked your friends page ^^'\
I'll post a reminder nearer the time, and If I think of anything else I'll be selling I'll post here in my journal :3
Cheers guys! ^^

What's going on:

Nothing

I will be working on this book for the foreseeable future. The cover is in progress and I'm thinking it (and the title) will be publicized sometime in December. (Hint: the title has "Scott Pilgrim" in it and the cover has Scott Pilgrim on it)

We got a dog over the summer. You may have noticed me only posting dumb ol' dog pictures. Her name is Midge and she is part American Eskimo, part Pomeranian. I'm not sure which parts. She looks more like an Eskimo -- she's not insanely poofy like a Pom, but she has black and white spots (Eskimos are all-white).

So that's what's up. I got a dog and I'm drawing comics. I did a quick website drawing, mostly 'cause I took a picture over the weekend that I thought would work well on the website, and I drew a little wacom doodle using brushes that I downloaded the other day from this wonderful person.

Updates here will continue to be infrequent, but I'm usually found babbling on twitter.

I hope you know...

Calling all music lovers who are also up for supporting a good cause:

My friend, Liz Tonwsend, is in a band called The Floe. They're very good and are, this month, releasing their first single 'I Hope You Know'.
What makes the release extra special is that the band have decided to give all proceeds from the single to the Transplant Trust; an organisation close to the lead singer's heart as she gave her own kidney a year ago.

To check out a message from the singer, Sarah, and to hear (and hopefully buy) the song from itunes, amazon or wotnot, head to this site.

Get some bouncy music, and give money to The Transplant Trust...not a bad day's transaction, eh?

Thanks all!

Let me share my pain with you

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 10:02 PM
On Saturday night I managed, whilst rather drunk, to pull back the nail on my right index finger by about 5mm, resulting in the soft bit under the nail getting exposed to the big bright world and a small quantity of dirt to get underneath it. It is now, three days later, healing slowly but slightly infected (even after I used a sterile knife to remove some of the more puss coated bits) and thus sore to the touch. Being that I spend my working life on a computer this means a large amount of inconvenience, as I type or use the mouse, as the combined pressure of infected bits and increased blood flow mix. It's also not that helpful to have the occasional bit of fluid come out to leave a tiny little trail of whitish, red, or clear liquid. The worst bit is when it looks like it has little lumps in it, either expelled dirt or just imagination. Still it'll be fixed soon, as bodies have an amazing ability to regenerate.

Just wanted to share.

LOL, a little late but...

Just found this screenshot on my computer, I should have posted this up on the 5th November for Bonfire Night XD

Anyway, I had a great time hanging out on Midsummer Common with Nana and Chloe - the fairground rides and snacks were quite extortionate, so we decided to go on one ride, the biggest one XD It was the whirly super-tall blue neon one. And just as we paid for our tickets, the booth lady told her heavy to raise the price from £5 to £6 O_O;;

We grabbed some toffee apples, then Matthew found us and we made our way to the food stands to watch the fireworks. They were great, my neck was hurting by the end of it XD I love sparkly things.

Then as I bought myself some fried noodles, Laura bumped into us, so we all made our way to the Zebra, which was packed full. I swapped my half of IPA with Laura's pint of Wychfinder (yum) then after chatting very briefly with Andy, Carol and Bethany, we walked back to our respective houses.

Matthew: "So, do you remember how the rhyme goes?"
Me: "Remember, remember, the 5th of november.... BLOW UP PARLIAMENT!!!"
Matthew: "... *headdesk*"
Me: "But that's what's important, right? Ne? Ne?!"

Webcomic ~ Dragon Heir: Chapter #5

  • Nov. 9th, 2009 at 11:59 AM
Not sure how many of my LJ readers are following, but Chapter 5 is up!
Proto-emo crooner Morrissey walked out on 8,000 fans after one of them managed to hit in in the eye with a flying plastic bottle. WTF?? Throwing a bottle at someone's head is a clear message of 'go away', that's not the sentiment you would assume from someone in the audience at a Morrissey concert. This isn't like bottling an act you don't like at a festival or engaging in audience participation with some incredibly hardcore brawler of a band, that's at least £30 on a ticket and lord knows how much time waiting for the show to start to see an artist who is already notoriously temperamental before missiles start impacting on his face. The response from the artist was both predictable and reasonable so why the heck would someone who presumably wanted to be there decide that it was the perfect moment to test their hand eye co-ordination?

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction
